Spitzer Sex Scandal

I’m sorry, but are we the only ones here NOT surprised by the revelations of the Spitzer sex scandal?

His self-righteous bullying and hunger for power were always signs of an unbalanced mind and addiction to power. Sexual addiction is just another form of that same addiction, the need for affirmation, the need to be right, to be in control.

Did he think that somehow he was above the law? Clearly, yes. He thinks is IS the law. Witness the way he hounded Martha Stewart. Was what SHE did WORSE than what he’s done? In which case, there will be NO DEAL. HE should get whatever he has coming to him, and THEN some.

As for the wife, well, the hell with ‘stand by your man’—we are sick of seeing these pathetic losers being bolstered by their strong, supportive, sacrificing wives.Take the slime for every penny he is worth, honey!

What is even more astounding is that he saw the whole unraveling of the New Jersey Governor over his ‘falling for his intern’, and of course what Bill Clinton went through. Personally, those situations are FAR more understandable and forgivable—you meet, work together, spark, an office flirtation becomes a bit unacceptable, but there are FEELINGS involved, mutual feelings. $80,000 for “paid companionship”?

The guy is a desperately sad loser by comparison with Clinton and McGreevey, and even more so because McGreevey ‘outed’ himself, literally, because he was ‘in love.’ Not because he was caught on a Federal wire tap and was about to be indicted. Confession to save your own ass and try to salvage your political career is even lower than what he was already getting up to!

And then tried to hang on as Governor to ‘try to cut a deal’-more like worm his way out of prison, AND, if Publisher’s Weekly is to be believed, to cut a book deal about his fall from grace. We are sure this sad story will only become more deplorable over time.

However, every cloud has a silver lining. The people of New York State are now being freed from this megalomaniac who would make a Jesuit Grand Inquistor look like a liberal, to David Paterson, a man whom no one has a bad word to say against. Which, for a man who has been in Harlem politics and State senate politics for over 2 decades, is a rare thing indeed.

And I have to say, it makes a compelling argument for more women to get involved in the political process. We may have “attitude” and wear macho pant suits, but at least we don’t spend a small fortune of what look to be campaign contributions on “banging whores” as David Letterman puts it.

Congratulations to the FBI and New York State for exposing Spitzer for the pathetic fraud and criminal he really is. Let him see how he likes being someone’s bitch at Sing Sing.
